  • Schedule IV Drugs – With a much lower potential for misuse than Schedule III drugs, these substances are approved for medical use and offer limited risk of psychological or physical abuse.
  • Schedule V Drugs – These drugs have the lowest risk of abuse when compared to their counterparts and contain limited quantities of certain narcotics. 

The Most Important Drugs to Be Aware of

The drugs of the highest importance are Schedule I and Schedule II drugs. These substances are either totally banned in the USA (and many other locations) or only approved for use under specific scenarios. These substances include:

  • Schedule I Drugs –  4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (Ecstasy), Marijuana, Heroin, Lysergic acid Diethylamide (LSD), Mescaline (Peyote), Synthetic Marijuana, and Bath Salts
  • Schedule II Drugs – Cocaine, Morphine, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Fentanyl, Methadone, Adderall, Methamphetamine, Ritalin

While schedule III, IV, and V drugs aren’t as dangerous, it’s still important to be aware of some of the most common of these substances. They include any of the following: Tylenol with codeine (III), Xanax (IV), Ambien (IV), testosterone (III), Robitussin AC (V), Lomotil (V), and anabolic steroids (III).
